Ho Chi Minh at Nighttime

It was dinner time and Bill and I were not into wondering the city for food. We went to the front desk and asked for a recommendation. They suggested a place across the street called A'Buu. There was a variety of food on the menu from frog to pigeon. Bill and I were a bit hesitant but we found something on the menu to our liking. I ordered fried rice with BBQ pork. Bill ordered noodles Buu style. Neither one of us really knew what we were getting into.
The dinner was delicious. There was chopped pork and sweet sausage in my rice and it was served with hot peppers and soy sauce. Bill's dinner was a plate of noodles with fried garlic and hot peppers with an oil sauce. His was hot!! We both tried one or two of the peppers, they were tiny, yet packed a big punch.
After dinner, we walked back to our hotel and had them call us a cab. The Cabby took us to the water puppet show. We were about 30 mins early so we walked around outside for a bit. Here is a photo of the crazy motorcyclist at night.
Finally the previous show let out and we made our way in to see the water puppet show. It was a mystery to us both, what we were actually going to see.
So the water puppet show are some wooden puppets that move around in dirty water, while a cast of 6 musicians and singers narrate an play music. There are 8 people behind a screen that are moving the puppets in their intricate movements acting out all 15 acts. It was a neat experience. Something totally different and specific to Vietnam. It was no world altering or life changing, but I am glad we went.
The photos are hard to see, my camera was reflecting off the water.
Tomorrow we are up early to go to the Me Kong Delta!
