We woke up- I was starving from our dinner of champs the night before. I had a pre-made peanut butter sandwich. We got dressed, enjoyed a cup of apple tea and set out for our short walk to the terminal. It was so nice to be so close.
We checked in- cut the line because we were flying business class!! Got a McDonalds snack- another healthy start! And made our way to our gate. Bill stopped to get Singapore Dollars and we got separated at security and immigration. But there was no hassle, just met him on the other side. We ran into Mrs. Giraud at the gate. Shortly we boarded the plane. We were seated in the first row of business class- row 1E!
It was a little more than an hour metro ride to our hotel, then a short 900m walk to the hotel. It was uphill so Bill dragged my suitcase. It is really hazy out, the pilot of our plane said that the haze is from fires in Indonesia. I kind of hope it rains so it will wash some of it way and we can breath easier!

Here is our room! It is a tiny green room, but it will do. I love the rock- retro theme of the hotel. So fun!
We had a quick turn arround to head out to the night safari!
We took a 30 min cab ride across the city to the Night Safari. First stop- FOOD!! We ate at UluUlu Restaurant. It offered a variety of food from all around the world. We had Chinese. Bill got fried rice with crab meat and a Singapore Sling! I got Kung Pow Chicken and a lemon aide.
The Singapore sling is a drink with pineapple juice, gin, grenidine, cherry brandy and Cointreau. He felt he had to start our trip off in Singapore with their official drink!

This meal was one of the best theme park food and best Kung PoW Chicken we have ever had! Great dinner!
After dinner we went to the 8pm fire show. The Thumbuakar fire breathers were quite impressive. They also did some blow darts. An audience member, a young girl, was called up to try her hand at accuracy at the blow dart. She hit the guy in the leg and not the balloon. That was funny. The best part was when Bill got called up on stage to participate. I will have to share more photos later, I only have one that I took from the screen of his camera. He loved being part of the show. He would have swallowed fire if they had asked him too! Being a part of the show made tonight really special! But he smelled of gasoline the rest of the night.
The show was kind of a let down. The creatures didn't do much an they were hard to see. The shows main message was to reduce, reuse and recycle. The project and purpose behind the night safari is to help reduce the loss of endangered animals by changing the way people treat the earth.
And the last attraction of the evening was the tour through the park on a tram. It was a nice ride through the park. It was not easy to take pictures. Here is a picture of some lions. It is out of focus and dark.
We got off the tram at a half way point to walk on a trail. The best part of the trail was walking through a cage with flying squirls and then another cage with bats. Bill loved my reaction of when the bats got too close. I was a little creeped out as they flew in a circle around me.
We got to see several beautiful large cats, leopards and tigers.
Once back on the tram, Bill and I hit the wall- we both fell asleep. It was dark, there was a soft breeze, and lights out for both of us. When the tram stopped, we got off. Bill stopped at a souviner shop to add to his shot glass collection and then we exited the park.
We caught a taxi back to our hotel and crashed for the night. So much for making it an early night, we were out past midnight Oki time.
