Trying to get on Island!

A New Life...A New Land!
My name is Megan and my husband is Bill. I am an unemployed school teacher (by choice) and he is a staff JAG for the U.S. Marines. My husband has been stationed in Okinawa, Japan for the next three years. He has been on island now for 2 months...I am not. I have been trying to get "approved' to be on the island, but it has not happened yet. I am still waiting in Texas. There are things still yet to process before we are in the same country. Monday, June 13th is moving day! It is the shipment to Japan. Then on Tuesday, June 14th, long term storage comes to pick up the rest of our stuff. I will stay in Texas and wait for my husbands return before being escorted to Okinawa. Hopefully I will accompany him in late October.
Bill returns to Texas mid-July for our wedding celebration. We have been legally married since August 21, 2010, but have never lived together in the same household, due to military training. On July 24th, 2011, Bill and I will begin our life together!!! We will have our wedding celebration and then move, temporarily to Rhode Island for more JAG training. After 10 short weeks in Rhode Island we will then transfer to Okinawa Japan, a moderately permanent station.
THIS IS OUR STORY...trials and tribulations of being a military couple. I hope that my story helps family and friends stay in contact while we are gone. And I hope my story reaches out to people who may be in similar situations with the military...Hope you enjoy!
