Kin Red Dive-

We went out mid afternoon for a quick dive. We headed over to the east side of island to a place that used to be a military pier.
It was an easy entry, walked down a couple of steps an got into the cool water. The dive plan was to swim to the pier and then follow it out.
Once we got about 100 yrds from the entry point we sunk down. The coral here is nothing to rave about. You can tell there have been a few typhoons this season, as the coral is gone and or broken.
As we swim and descended down, there was evidence of boats docking. We came across several anchors and pipes. A lot of rope dropped to the sea floor. The coolest was a military jeep. It was upside down wheels in the air. There I saw a leopard eel. I did not want to get to close. Bill did not see and got rather close.
As we swam further out we came to on the the pillars we could see from the surface. Surrounding the pillars were a million sea urchins. Some had spikes more than a foot long. They were the size of my head or bigger. They are very poisonous so I steered far away. Bill wanted to swim among the pillars. He is such a dare devil. But I told him no. That's where sharks and other scary things live.
All along the bottom of the ocean we found bottles. It seems people have partied out there a lot. But the fun part was that the bottles are old. We found a can of Schiltz Beer. It had a pull tab on it. It is easily is from the 60's or 70's.
We swam out about 40 mins. On our way back we found the edge of the pier. Again Bill wanted to swim under a a pylon. I said no. I had a vision of it falling and crushing him. We followed the pier back to the beach. On the way Bill say an octopus. I tried to look but was scared. And then a little ways away we saw a huge lion fish. Another poisonous creature. Such and exciting dive.
We swam all the way in and surfaced. A great end to the long weekend. .
