Happy Thanksgiving from Hong Kong!

So at 3pm on Thanksgiving Day, Beth, Dave, Bill and I flew off to the wonderful city of Hong Kong! It is just a short 2.5 hr flight from Okinawa.
We landed in a land green and lush and surrounded by water. Something I didn't know is that Hong Kong is a series of islands, with lots of people living on boats.
Once we got to the hotel, the Salisbury YMCA, we headed out to see the Avenue of Stars and the near by Promenade. We were a little disappointed in our accommodations because we both got rooms with twin beds. We were living it up like the I love Lucy show! Tomorrow we will get a room upgrade. Next We were also on the hunt for a place to eat Thanksgiving dinner.
We came across a place called Mask. The food was typical Chinese food, very similar to PF Changs.
We had several different types of door. I had steamed chicken served in a pumpkin. I thought that was kind of thanksgiving like.
For desert we had sticky buns with sweet egg center( my fav desert in china) and candied strawberries.
The candied strawberries we awesome, first they were deep fried, then laid on a plate with Carmel covering them. Then the waiter pulled the strawberries off the plate and dunked them into ice water, to harden the Carmel. It was quite the process, but the end result was pretty and tasty. When we finished our Chinese thanksgiving meal, we received a Bill for $1,393 dollars. All of our hearts jumped a little, because we forgot it was in HKD $. It was still and expensive meal, but not as much as we originally thought. ( divide by 7, it is a rough estimate).
It was great spending thanksgiving with good friends, in a new city, with a great meal. A Thanksgiving to remember! For sure!
