Driving on the left side of the road....can't be that hard!

So yesterday at the butt crack of dawn I woke up and went with Bill to base to take my drivers test. It was something that looked like I would give my 4th grades. True/False, multiple choice and matching. A really ridiculous test. And surprise, surprise, the whole class passed.
I had to go through the newcomers course to get my license. That was on Wednesday from 7:20am to 1:00pm, with no lunch. But I made it and was excited. I felt like I had watched Bill drive a lot and learned my way around town basically and things would be OK.
Well my first trip would be from Foster to Kadena. I was to make a left out of the gate, take a right at the Blueberry cafe, pass Camp Lester and when I see Mickey Housing on my left the entrance to Kadena will be on my right.
I only got lost once. I went straight at the Blueberry Cafe, I was in the wrong lane. I thought, no biggy I just go around the block, nope, their blocks don't connect like ours do, so I had to turn around and try again. Finally I made it and arrived at my destination.
Next they were sending me to the Foster Housing Office. From once housing office to another. Well I thought, I'll go back the way I came. They gave me a map with very limited landmarks on it. When I arrived at Bill's office I thought, well I'll call him and figure out where the Fire house. Well someone else in his office answered, Bill was with a client. Gosh, he was working. So they gave me directions. They gave very good directions, I just did not follow them very well. There were two sets to towers and I got confused and when I decided to turn,  I turned in the American side....otherwise known as the wrong side of the Military Gate. The Japanese Nationals that stand guard freaked out! Luckily there were not tire puncture strips at this exit. So I pulled to the right side, the left, and he asked for my ID. I could not find it. SO he asked for my license. I was like OH NO!! And then he asked me to pull over to the side. SO I did. You can get points on your license and then have it taken away, i was sure this was happening. But He was just getting directions for me, I apologized, bowed and thanked him. I was so embarrassed.
I finally made it to the housing office, after an MP followed me out of that gate to the next gate. I was super stressed. Bill was trying to call and your not allowed to talk on your phones and I was flustered. Needless to say it is a lot to think about because driving on the right side is so automatic!
