Fujiya Gohonjin

This was a fantastic meal with lovely ambiance. The restaurant is an old Japanese home with gardens in between all the rooms. It was originally built in 1648. We were seated in a center table with a booth so I could lay the baby down. Usually Theo sleeps through dinner, but tonight he was too warm to be comfortable. So we had a wiggly, squirmy baby during dinner. That made the experience hard to enjoy, but I am really glad e had a nice dinner for New Years.
First course was a bruschetta with pesto and scallops.
Next was a lobster/shrimp cheviche wrapped in a pastry roll.
Third was a honey BBQ game hen on a mashed potatoe.
Forth we had a sweet potatoe in a cheese sauce.
Then came the main dishes. We had a philo dough wrapped fish with a warm herb dressing.
And then lastly a slice of the most tender beef I have ever eaten. It melted in your mouth.
The they moved us to the desert room. We had a chocolate warm cake with a grand mariner topping with ice cream. It was so good.
And then a selection of peti fores. All served with tea and coffee.
It was such a lovely dinner. If only Theo had slept through it, I could have enjoyed it more. But alas that is what happens when you travel with a little one!
