As a last minute trip we book a flight to Tokyo. We were able to get tickets and hotel for really cheap. It was a complete surprise when Bill presented it to me.
We drove to the airport after work and met the car service guy. And then boarded a bus to transfer to the "new" terminal to catch out flight.
It is a new terminal, but it is also the cargo terminal. After the 3min bus transfer we walked into a large warehouse to check in. I handed the printed confirmation and the lady printed us a receipt. She never Even checked our ID.
We went through the security and waited to board the plane. Air Asia.com is a super Efficient airline with no spared expense.
The flight was uneventful, only thing to report is the seats were incredibly close to one another and we were on a brand, spanking new plane.
Once we landed it was a mad dash to the rail line to make the train. We ran up stairs, down an escalator, down a long hallway and then we got to the ticket counter. It is so hard to read Japanese.
We bought our tickets and had just mins to spare.
We picked up some fellow Americans who thought we looked like we knew what we were doing. They were following along. We taught them how to use the machine and where to stand. They were fellow Okinites from the Marine Corps Clan.
We caught the train and we rode for hours. Constantly thinking we were on the wrong train. Once we got to the next subway station we ran to the train. I seriously think we walked a half mile or more under ground. We caught the last train at 00:11. Finally we arrived at Hiro Station. We walked the few blocks ad checked into the New Sanno.
