I have traveled many times over seas. I am always excited about the trip, but dread the flight. There is something about being strapped down in a plane with fake air and horrible food that is unappealing. And I pay $$$$ to do this. Lots is $$$.
Well today, American Airlines made my flying experience better than most. It began with a very friendly staff. First, I was forgiven for the 5lbs overweight for my suitcase. Second, Flight attendants almost never like their job. At the 1st of 3 meals I was served I asked for a glass of wine. She gave me 2. I thought, oh how nice. Then I went to the back of the plane to throw some trash away and struck up a conversation with the flight attendants. We shared stories and it was nice to chat. They sent me back to my seat with a snack and a drink.
Back at my seat, I was asleep, I open my eyes while readjusting and notice that there is a red box there. It surprised me. I look around and think everyone must have one. But no, just me. I open it up and realize one of the flight attendants had left the 1st class care pkg for me. It has all sorts of traveling goodies in it. (see picture) On the last meal one of the flight attendants came back and gave me extra cookies. I stashed them for a snack in Tokyo.
As I was exiting the plane, all 3 of the flight attendants I had made friends with said good bye and hoped to see me again on the next flight I take home.
I was really impressed with the flight attendants attitudes. In the midst of bankruptcy, they were kind and friendly. My flight back to oki was more enjoyable than expected.
